US Senate OKs new Iran sanctions
WASHINGTON: The U.S. Senate on Thursday approved tough new unilateral sanctions aimed at squeezing Iran's energy and banking sectors.The U.S. House of Representatives was expected to follow later in the day.While aimed at curbing Iran's nuclear work, the measures also could penalize companies from other countries doing business with Tehran. Once the House approves the bill, it will go to President Barack Obama for signing into law. ....
